play second grade parents this is Miss Brown and I'm just going to make this short little video to show you how to navigate Google classroom with your student first you were going to want to make sure that your student is logged into their Google account what's are logged click on the little Waffle icon right here and you are going to find the classroom icon once you find that click on it will show you your classes and you will see second grade 2020 2021 decided to have one Google classroom for students who want to click on the join button and it will take to the class stream this is where the teachers will post important which is similar to zoom you will find the link right here and you will have didn't click on it at the given time on the screen we will not be posting class word because it will cause the stream to become cluttered to find class work for your student you're going to click on the classwork and it will be sorted by week so this is week of September 21st through September 25th and each week will have an agenda that will be at the top and I'm just going to show you what is in the air it'll have a little synopsis of what's the week going to look like in Google Classroom so far as I'm going to click on Monday see what we're doing on Monday and it looks like we are doing morning work for Monday that I'm going to have to watch a video reading lesson and then watch another video and then complete math lesson Soopers I'm going to look for morning work it looks like it says morning work for week of 9:21 tonight follow the directions I just completed so I should say I just watch that video now I need to do reading lesson what did you find listen what I'm going to go back to my class work and I'm going to scroll down and look for reading lesson one looks like there's a PDF the most likely you will want to look at the PDF first looks like this one is a short little passage on cattle so once I have read that I will go to the Google forms and I'm going to fill that out I'm going to go back to the agenda and it looks like next thing I need to do is watch a video I just watched to complete math lesson one so I'm going to go back to my classwork and look for Monday looks like it is a question and I need to look at this. in order to answer the questions and how the agenda will help you navigate the Tuesday change a little so that is where you find class work some more little small things on Google classroom going to the calendar is another way for your student to find assignments so for each day it looks like if there was math lesson 1 reading lesson 1 for Monday on Tuesday there was math lesson two and reading lesson two on here and your student can click on those to also finish those assignments for that day another quick thing that you can do Google Classroom is go to settings and show you how to turn off or turn on your email notifications I chose to turn mine off just because if you have all of these are not just a lot of notifications and it can overwhelm your student email so you can turn on specific things or turn it off for specific things like if I didn't want to receive comments on the post I would just turn it off I suggest just turning off the email notifications and that will save you a lot of deleting so what is about it on Google Classroom if you have any questions please free to message me or your child's second grade teacher thank you guys so much
